What to visit in Casacalenda?

Among the attractions of Casacalenda we can mention the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, an important XIII century church which still preserves its original frescoes and a beautiful stone portal; the Palazzo Ducale, built in the 17th century and characterized by its imposing stone facade and large entrance portal; and the Clock Tower, located in the town’s main square and built in the 18th century.

Furthermore, in Casacalenda you can take beautiful walks in the surrounding nature, among hills, woods and cultivated fields. In particular, the Matese natural park is very suggestive and offers many opportunities for excursions.

Finally, during the year various events and festivals take place in Casacalenda, such as the Feast of San Rocco at the end of August and the Grape Festival in September. The Grape Festival is one of the most important events in the town and offers the opportunity to taste the local wines and the typical products of Molise cuisine.
