Rasiglia is a charming medieval village located in the Umbria region of Italy. It is known for its rural charm and natural beauty, but also for its traditional architecture.

The village is famous for its old stone houses, its wooden bridges and its water channels which flow through the centre. Rasiglia is also known as the “little Venice” of Umbria due to the presence of these canals that cross the village and make it unique in its kind.

One of the main attractions of the village is the Mulino di Rasiglia, an ancient water mill that is still in operation today and produces flour. The mill can be visited and offers an overview of traditional milling technology.

Rasiglia is also famous for its traditional festivals, such as the Festa della Trebbiatura held in August, during which you can admire the ancient threshing techniques and taste the local products.

When do we recommend you to visit Rasiglia?

The best time to visit Rasiglia is spring or summer, when the village is particularly green and flowery. However, the village can be visited all year round and offers a different beauty in every season. For example, during autumn, the surrounding woods are tinged with warm colors and chestnuts become the symbol of the season. In winter, however, the village turns into a charming snowy village, perfect for winter walks and the tasting of typical seasonal dishes such as spelled soup.
