Celleno is a small and fascinating ghost town abandoned since the end of the 19th century following landslides, earthquakes and epidemics. It is located in the immediate vicinity of Civita di Bagnoregio with which it shares its origin and destiny. The village is located on a tufa spur with a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape between two streams which soon join the Tiber, bringing the waters up to Rome.

Walking through Celleno you will be able to walk through an intricate maze of narrow streets that will lead you to cross Via del Ponte up to the ruins of an ancient castle.

Do you know what the typical product of Celleno is?

The typical product of Celleno is the cherry recognized as a Traditional Agri-Food Product with the name “Celleno Cherry” by the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies.

What are the events and parties that take place in the village?

In June there is the Cherry Festival to celebrate the fruit with allegorical floats and various tastings, in July, the Night of the Harpy, with events around the remains of the Castle, in September the Festa del SS. Crocifisso like the manor party and Tavernina Busker, the International Festival of street artists.
