The Zingaro oriented nature reserve is a protected natural area located west of the Gulf of Castellammare in the municipalities of Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito Lo Capo, in the province of Trapani, in Sicily.

Established in 1981, it is managed by the State Forests of the Sicilian Region. The Zingaro coast is one of the very few stretches of coast in Sicily that is not contaminated by the presence of a coastal road.

The territory was inhabited by a last peasant family until about 1960, in the house that today is the museum of weaving, renovated in 2013. The inhabitants used mules to transport goods and water. Today for the transport of waste and goods in general, mules are always used, the only possible means of transport.

How much does the ticket to the Riserva dello Zingaro cost?

For entry to the Zingaro Nature Reserve, the cost of the full ticket is 5 euros. A reduced ticket of 3 euros is possible for children up to 14 years of age. The cost is 1 euro for access to school groups and students of training courses. The ticket is free for Italian citizens over the age of 65, children of all nations under the age of 10, law enforcement officers on duty.
