The Maradona mural in Naples is a painting on the wall of a building in the Spanish Quarters and which celebrates the life and exploits of legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona, who played for the city’s team for seven years and led the team to two UEFA Cups, a Coppa Italia and their first and so far only Scudetto in 1987. The mural has become a place of pilgrimage for fans of Maradona and football in general.

Where is the Maradona mural located?

In reality, there are two of the most famous murals dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona and which are located in Naples. The first, built in 1990 and then restored in 2016, is located in the Spanish Quarters (Quartieri Spagnoli). The second, built in 2017, is instead located in the San Giovanni a Teduccio district, on the eastern outskirts of the Neapolitan capital. And both have become the places to pay homage to the Pibe de Oro.
