Ostia Antica is an archaeological site located a few kilometers southwest of Rome, Italy. It is the ancient port city of Rome, founded in the 4th century BC. Active until the 4th century AD. It is famous for being Rome’s main sea gate and for being an outstanding example of a well-preserved Roman city.

From May to September, the temperatures are warmer and the days are longer, so it’s the ideal time to visit the archaeological site and enjoy the good weather.

In autumn the nature of the surrounding park changes colors. Thus it offers a unique experience for lovers of nature and outdoor walks, however temperatures can be cooler.

In winter, temperatures are cooler and there are fewer tourists, so it’s the ideal time to visit Ostia Antica in a quieter and less crowded environment.

Spring and summer are the best times to visit Ostia Antica. Temperatures are milder and the site is open to the public without restrictions.
