The Way of Saint Peter the Hermit is made up of three rings that follow the traces of the pilgrimage of Saint Peter the Hermit.

It extends in the Apennine area on the border between Abruzzo and Lazio, crossing the provinces of L’Aquila, Rieti, Frosinone and part of the metropolitan city of Lazio.

The start of the path is located in Rocca di Botte, in western Marsica, birthplace of Saint Peter the hermit during the 11th century. Also known as the “traveling knight”, Saint Peter the hermit crossed these places spreading the Christian faith, visiting the villages of the Cavaliere plain and the upper Aniene valley.

It is said that he died of privation around 1052 in Trevi in Lazio. Venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church, he is the patron saint of Rocca di Botte and Trevi nel Lazio, two twinned municipalities.

Some relics are kept in the places of worship of various centers in the Sacco valley and Ciociaria, involved in the creation of the third ring of this natural and spiritual journey.
