The Caves of Pertosa Auletta are a natural wonder located in the Campania region of southern Italy. These caves are one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area and were opened to the public in 1932.
The Pertosa-Auletta caves are a series of underground limestone caves that extend for about 3 kilometres. The caves were formed by the Tanagro River, which flows through them, and by the action of time and erosion. Inside the caves you can admire stalactites and stalagmites, underground rivers, lakes, waterfalls and many other spectacular natural formations.
The caves are equipped for tourism, with paths and stairs leading visitors through the different chambers and passageways. The guided tour lasts about an hour and a half and allows you to discover the most suggestive corners of the caves. Furthermore, during the summer, a light and sound show is organized inside the caves, which creates a unique and suggestive atmosphere.

Continue by boat to get to the grand entrance and on foot towards the Throne Room and the majestic Great Hall (24 meters high).
