The Cherry Festival returns at Celleno, a small and enchanting village, a place full of charm and mystery, where ancient ruins and centuries-old memories blend harmoniously with the splendid surrounding panorama.

Here, on a tuff spur in the heart of the Teverina, stands the charming village of Celleno, a jewel suspended in time just waiting to be explored.

For over 50 years the Cherry Festival in Celleno

Every year for over half a century, the heart of the month of June in Celleno, in the province of Viterbo, in Lazio, beats to the rhythm of the Cherry Festival, a joyful celebration dedicated to the local treasure.

You can’t miss it! Imagine the streets of the picturesque village animated by allegorical floats and masked groups, while the inviting scent of ripe fruits spreads in the air.

Here it is possible to delight in the delicacies of cherries, taste the renowned Cherry fritters or savor a slice of the legendary “Crostatona”, a 20 meter long dessert, filled with the artisanal jam from the Celleno Cherry Consortium.

But the true excellence of our festival is the spectacular “Spit of the hazelnut”. Here the most daring compete, whoever manages to push the Celleno cherry stone the furthest wins the title of undisputed champion.

But that’s not all: the festival also offers markets full of delicacies, musical entertainment for every taste, fun for the little ones, and a wide choice of gastronomic delicacies to taste in every corner. In 2024 the cherry festival in Celleno will take place on May 31st, June 1st and 2nd.

For more information you can consult the official Facebook page of the Celleno Pro Loco.
