Pietramelara is a pretty village located in the Campania region, in the province of Caserta. It is located about 20 km north of Caserta and 50 km north of Naples.

Among the main tourist attractions of Pietramelara there is certainly the medieval tower, an imposing fortress dating back to the 12th century which stands on the hill above the village. The castle offers a panoramic view of the Volturno river valley and the surrounding landscapes.

Another attraction not to be missed in Pietramelara is the Church of Sant’Agostino, the Church of SS. Annunziata and that of San Rocco, located in the historic center of the village. The church, dating back to the 18th century, is a fine example of Baroque architecture and is richly decorated with stuccos and frescoes. The historic center of Pietramelara is a pleasant maze of narrow, winding streets, surrounded by stone houses and ancient buildings.

Finally, Pietramelara is known for its local gastronomy, which includes dishes based on meat, cheese and typical products of the region. Local specialties include maccheroni alla chitarra, fusilli al ferretto and pecorino di Pietramelara.

In summary, it is a charming and picturesque village, rich in history, art and culture, which is worth visiting if you are in the Caserta area or if you are looking for a quiet and authentic place to spend a relaxing day.
