The Rose Garden of Rome is a public garden located on the Aventine hill, in the Rione Ripa district. It is one of the most beautiful and picturesque gardens in Rome and is notable for its collection of roses.
The Rose Garden was created in 1931, on the initiative of the mayor of Rome at the time, to celebrate the beauty of the rose, the symbolic flower of the city. Today, the garden is home to over 1,100 varieties of roses, including many rare and ancient species from around the world.
The garden is divided into several sections, each dedicated to a different type of rose. There are climbing roses, shrub roses, perennial roses, bush roses and many other varieties. The Comunale Rose Garden will reopen its doors to the public starting next April 21, 2023, on the occasion of Christmas of Rome, during the spring flowering from the end of April to May.

The Municipal Rose Garden is located in Via di Valle Murcia n. 6 – 00153 Rome. Guided tours of the Municipal Rose Garden do not take place all year round but only during the spring and autumn flowering periods. However, news is given on the institutional website and on the Environmental Protection Department.
