Rocca San Giovanni is an Italian town in the province of Chieti, in the Abruzzo region, located a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. It is a beautiful village located on the hills at an altitude of about 220 meters above sea level, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Abruzzo coast and the surrounding mountains.

The village of Rocca San Giovanni is famous for its medieval architecture, with narrow and steep streets that wind between stone and brick houses. One of the town’s main attractions is the Torre Civica, a defense tower dating back to the 13th century that rises majestically in the center of the village, as well as the church of San Metteo apostle and the well-preserved medieval walls up to the crenellated tower known as the “Torrione dei Filippini”.

This village is also famous for its gastronomy. Abruzzo cuisine is known for its simplicity and authenticity, and the village of Rocca San Giovanni is no exception. Among the typical dishes there are the “maccheroni alla chitarra”, the “pasta and beans”, the “brodetto di pesce”, the “Abruzzese sausage” and many others.

The village of Rocca San Giovanni is a perfect place for those looking for a peaceful holiday away from the chaos of the city. It is possible to stroll through the streets of the historic centre, go on excursions in the surrounding hills or simply relax on the beach a few kilometers away. Furthermore, the town is close to other tourist destinations in Abruzzo such as the city of Chieti and the Maiella National Park. In short, it is an enchanting place that offers a perfect combination of history, culture, nature and gastronomy.
