In the heart of the medieval village of Fara in Sabina – along the promenade of via Rieti – the “Passeggiando tra le rose” (Walking among the roses) event returns, organized and promoted by the Pro Loco of Fara in Sabina aps together with the Sabina Garden Club.
This is an exhibition-market now in its sixth edition and dedicated to the queen of flowers which, from Saturday 1st June to Sunday 2nd June, will fill the historic center of Fara with colors and scents.
An opportunity to immerse yourself in a world full of suggestions, to discover the latest news in the horticultural sector and many other curiosities. In fact, there are numerous events on the program for all tastes. Events dedicated to various themes including the protection and enhancement of natural heritage (in all its specificities and biological diversity) and the promotion of typical local products and craftsmanship.
News 2024 edition
The novelty of this edition is precisely contained in this last theme. There will be particular attention paid to food and sustainability, thanks to the presence of both food and wine stands that will offer a vast selection of local delicacies and local craft stalls that will display works of art and unique artefacts, testimony to the skill and of the creativity of local artisans.
Furthermore, “Walking among the roses” is not only confirmed as an opportunity to explore the riches and traditions of this fascinating place, but also as a moment of reflection and awareness: experts in the sector.
Agronomists, biologists, dieticians and organic farmers will take part and will hold workshops, debates and seminars aimed at recalling the close relationship between food and health, between purchasing choices and sustainability. Through these initiatives, visitors will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge on crucial topics related to sustainable food production, waste reduction and conscious consumption.

But on the program there are numerous initiatives dedicated to equally important and interesting themes including guided tours to discover the secrets and mysteries of the medieval village of Fara in Sabina and the precious heritage preserved at the Civic Archaeological Museum in Piazza Duomo (bookable at the office tourist by calling the numbers 0765277321 and 3802838920 or by writing an email to visitfarainsabina@gmail.com); stands aimed at the exchange of plants and various accessories (for example cuttings, pots, seeds, books, etc.); a corner reserved for the projection of the video that summarizes the “Sabino Carnival 2024”; a space dedicated to animals including hawks and parrots and finally a stand dedicated to hosting a veterinarian.
Spotlight on roses
But the undisputed protagonists of the event will obviously be the roses, in all their nuances: with their timeless beauty, their delicate petals and their enveloping scents, the roses will enchant the participants and will adorn the gardens and alleys of the village with elegance and refinement. In addition to their extraordinary aesthetic beauty, roses represent a symbol of love, passion and romance, evoking deep emotions and arousing feelings of joy. In the context of the exhibition-market, the roses also take on an even more significant role, becoming ambassadors of the local culture and its rich food and wine tradition.
Annita Giuliani, president of the Pro Loco of Fara in Sabina aps, comments on the wait for this event as important as it is singular: “We are enthusiastic about giving shape to the sixth edition of this event which, during the past years, has always achieved excellent results thus becoming a significant event for the entire territory. The merit – he continues – is above all due to the collaboration of the different protagonists, but also to the nature of the event itself: it is in fact – he concludes – two days that allow participants to get away from the chaos and daily noise, to experience moments of relaxation and serenity”.
