The Stanghe Waterfalls are a beautiful tourist attraction located in the Val di Funes, in the Italian Dolomite Alps. The Stanghe waterfalls are located near Racines, near Vipiteno, between the Val Ridanna and the Racines Valley. The waterfalls cross the small gorge of Stanghe in a fascinating way, also known as the Gilf ravine.

To reach the waterfalls, you can take the little train of the Dolomites, a picturesque steam train that leaves from Chiusa station and arrives in San Pietro in Val di Funes, from where you can walk for about 30 minutes to reach the waterfalls.

The Stanghe waterfalls are made up of three main waterfalls, with heights ranging from 25 to 65 metres. The surrounding landscape is truly breathtaking, with towering mountains and green meadows surrounding the waterfalls.

When is the best time to visit the Stanghe waterfalls?

The best time to visit these waterfalls depends on your preferences. In summer, from the end of May to the end of September, you can enjoy the warm and sunny weather and the beauty of the green meadows and flowers. In winter, however, you can enjoy a completely different landscape, with the frozen waterfalls and snowy landscape.

However, it is important to keep in mind that the Dolomites train does not operate all year round, but only during the summer months and for some winter holidays, so I advise you to check the dates before planning your visit.
