Molise is an Italian region often overlooked by tourists, even if the tenancy has changed considerably in recent years. This region offers some very interesting villages to visit.
Among the most suggestive villages there are:
- Campobasso: the main city of the region, with its historic center that extends over the hill of Castello Monforte, offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Biferno valley.
- Agnone: known as the town of bells, Agnone is famous for the handcrafted production of bells and for its historic center full of churches and ancient buildings.
- Sepino: located at the foot of the Matese, Sepino is a medieval village that still retains its ancient walls and the Roman forum.
- Termoli: one of the most beautiful coastal towns of Molise, with a historic center characterized by narrow streets and colorful houses overlooking the sea.
- Pietrabbondante: located on a hill about 900 meters above sea level, Pietrabbondante is famous for its Roman temple and theatre, which offers a spectacular view over the Tammaro valley.

The best time to visit these villages depends on your preferences: if you like a mild climate and village festivals, I suggest you visit Molise in spring or summer. If, on the other hand, you prefer the quieter atmospheres and colors of autumn, autumn can be a good choice. In winter, however, some villages can be covered by snow and offer a very suggestive experience.
