The Orbetello Lagoon Oasis is a nature reserve located in the southern part of Tuscany, a few kilometers from Grosseto. It is a vast protected area that extends over approximately 1,000 hectares and includes the Orbetello lagoon, Monte Argentario and the surrounding coast.

The Lagoon Oasis is one of the most important wetlands in Europe and hosts a great variety of animal and plant species. Among the birds that nest in the area, there are the pink flamingo, the gray heron, the little egret and the kingfisher. Furthermore, the reserve is inhabited by numerous species of mammals, such as badgers, foxes, wild boars and fallow deer.

Access to the Orbetello Lagoon Oasis is free and there are various areas equipped for picnics, as well as paths for hiking and cycling. Furthermore, the reserve organizes guided tours on foot and by boat to allow visitors to discover the natural beauty of the area in a safe and conscious way.

The Orbetello lagoon is also an important fishing area and the oasis hosts one of the most important aquaculture stations in the Mediterranean. Here molluscs such as clams and mussels are raised, which are appreciated all over the world for their quality.

In summary, the Orbetello Lagoon Oasis is a magical place where wild nature blends with local culture and tradition. A visit to the reserve allows you to immerse yourself completely in the beauty of nature and to discover an environmental and cultural heritage of inestimable value.
