Perhaps it is one of the most beautiful and well-known views of the Gulf of Naples. To have this glimpse of the beautiful city, its sea and the Vesuvius volcano that stands out above everything, it is necessary to climb to the highest part of Castel Sant’Elmo which is located in the upper part of the city, near the Vomero district.

From this viewpoint it is also possible to easily recognize the Spaccanapoli road which ideally divides the oldest part of the city in two. Here is some practical information that will allow you to enjoy this world famous breathtaking landscape as well.

How to reach Castel Sant Elmo?

The Castle is located in Via Tito Angelini 20 in Naples. Getting to the Castle of Sant’Elmo is very easy. In fact, from the center of Naples you can take the Metro Line 1 and get off at the Vanvitelli stop and from there continue on foot. If you prefer the Funicular, you can take the Montesanto one and get off at the Morghen stop or the Chiaia funicular and get off at Piazza Amedeo, or the Line V1 bus and get off at the Piazzale San Martino stop.

On which days and times?

The entrance to Castel Sant’Elmo is possible every day except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

How much does the entrance to the Castle cost?

The full entrance ticket costs € 5, the reduced one is € 2 and is reserved for citizens of the European Community aged between 18 and 25 years. The cost of the ticket is further reduced to € 1.25 for Artecard holders.
