Here is a selection of 7 cycle paths to follow immersed in nature or near the sea, which can be tackled by cyclists of all age groups.

Cycle path of the Riviera dei Fiori, Liguria

The only one of its kind, the western track is a long straight line overlooking the sea, in a suggestive alternation of small villages, the sea, tunnels and bridges. Perfectly equipped for the rental of bikes, rickshaws and with ample parking spaces available, the 24 KM of track starts from San Lorenzo al Mare and reaches Ospedaletti. It starts from San Lorenzo al mare, a small village protected behind by the mountains, with the colorful houses of the fishermen. The tunnel of the cycle path that begins at the end of San Lorenzo comes out right at the Aregai di Cipressa with a beautiful pitch where you can rest and admire the incredible landscape that opens up before your eyes. After the Costarainera tunnel, the cycle path winds its way towards Santo Stefano. (Read more)

Assisi – Spoleto cycle path

Quite long but entirely flat itinerary with great tourist attractions, built on the embankments of Marroggia -Teverone – Timia, up to Cannara, and then cross the Umbrian Valley right in front of Assisi. Umbria is a region that is focusing a lot on cycle tourism and the results are evident: this itinerary can be connected to others (e.g. the Tiber cycle route, the Ex Ferrovia Spoleto – Norcia cycle route, the Trasimeno ring route) for a pleasant holiday in pedals in the area. The Orte – Falconara railway line (between Spoleto and Assisi) and the Foligno – Terontola line (between Foligno and Assisi) allows the bike + train. (Read more)

Cycle Path of the Costa dei Trabocchi

We are sure that you have already heard of the Cycle / Pedestrian Path of the Costa dei Trabocchi, a track that, in its final project, will unite Ortona with Vasto / San Salvo and which is part of the Bike to Coast project that will allow you to “travel by bicycle” from Martinsicuro to the southern border of Abruzzo (Vasto and San Salvo). Food Valley Bike from Parma to Busseto – Emilia Romagna

The Food Valley Bike is a cycling itinerary with a strong enogastronomic connotation that starts from the city of Parma and ends in Busseto. From pasta, to cheese, to excellent cured meats, it will be a strong appeal for both Italian and international users.(Read more)

Cycle path from Castel di Sangro to Villa Scontrone, Abruzzo

Among the many cycle paths and cycle-pedestrian paths that can be covered in the Alta Valle del Sangro, in Abruzzo, there is a very beautiful stretch, 6.4km long, which starts next to the Castel di Sangro fishing reserve (at the metal bridge), crosses a beautiful valley and arrives at Villa Scontrone. Val Venosta cycle path

Resia Pass, 1,500 m asl. at the cofine with Austria, is the starting point of the Val Venosta cycle path. It embraces Lake Resia and then continues through San Valentino alla Muta. To the right of the Adige it then continues to the villages of Burgusio, Clusio and Glorenza. From this small medieval village, which is absolutely worth a stop, it continues to Ischia di Prato allo Stelvio, where the Rio Solda joins the Adige. This protected natural area is one of the unpaved parts of the route. (Read more)

Valtellina cycle path – Lombardy

The Valtellina path is a cycle / pedestrian itinerary that runs along the Adda river between Colico and Bormio, for a total distance of 114 km. Along the way, surrounded by greenery and embraced by the Rhaetian Alps with their characteristic vineyard terraces and the Orobie Alps, it is possible to discover at a slow pace the small villages and the scenic and natural beauties of Valtellina. There are many equipped rest areas and bike rental points, as well as accommodation and catering facilities where you can taste the rich local food and wine tradition. The presence along a large part of the railway route allows for convenient access points and connections to the Valtellina Path. (Read more)
